Sylvie Dress | Bird and Vine

The print on the Sylvie is the kind that rewards looking at. A large-scale block print in forest green and cream: peacocks in mid-display, birds in flight, and dense arabesque foliage rendered in bold, graphic linework against alternating grounds. The scale is deliberate — motifs are oversized and unfragmented, so each panel of the dress carries a complete piece of the scene rather than a cropped repeat. The bodice reads differently from the skirt, the sleeves differently from the back, which is part of what makes the dress interesting in motion.

The silhouette is relaxed and voluminous above the waist: a gathered scoop neckline with a small keyhole and leather-tab closure at the back, wide flutter sleeves that extend from the shoulder with enough flare to frame the print well. At the waist, an elasticated band pulls the volume in before the skirt releases into a full, gathered A-line mini. A self-fabric belt in cream — printed with the same Bird and Vine motif — threads through the waist and ties at the front, adding definition without being required. The close-up shows a hidden zip at the side seam for easy on-off.
