The Monroe is a full midi skirt that knows where to put its details. The body is clean and uninterrupted — a wide smocked waistband at the top that gives without gaping, then a generous A-line sweep of cotton that hangs cleanly to the ankle. The interest is at the hem: a band of pressed pintucks running in parallel rows around the full circumference, echoing the smocking at the waist and giving the skirt a finished, considered quality that reads from across the room.
The waistband is worth noting specifically — several rows of uniform smocking that stretch to fit and spring back, making the skirt a true pull-on with no zip or button to manage.
